Prairie iGEM is a student team affiliated with the University of Manitoba.

Information we collect

We only collect information you voluntarily provide, such as your name, email address, and any details you include in the contact form or application correspondence. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information, ever.

How we use your information

We use the information you share with us to respond to questions, process recruitment inquiries, coordinate partnerships and sponsorships, and communicate with supporters. Donations processed through the University of Manitoba's crowdfunding platform are governed by the University of Manitoba's own privacy policy.

Data security

We take reasonable steps to safeguard personal information, including using reputable email and hosting providers with standard transport encryption. No method of transmission over the internet is fully secure, but we treat your information with care and retain it only as long as it is needed.

Analytics & cookies

If we use analytics to understand site usage, we prefer privacy-friendly options that do not rely on personally identifying cookies. The site itself does not set marketing cookies.

Your rights under PIPEDA

Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, request corrections, and ask for it to be removed. To exercise these rights, email us at uofm.igem@umanitoba.ca.

Prairie iGEM is hosted within the Faculty of Science at the University of Manitoba. For information handled directly by the University (including donation records) please also consult the University of Manitoba privacy and security pages.
